Weatherhead Residential Advisors Welcome Students to a New Year

Weatherhead Hall is Tulane's sophomore honors residence, where students can continue to build an academic community, led by the Faculty-in-Residence and a remarkable team of Resident Advisors.

Faculty-in-Residence: Janarthanan Jayawickramarajah, Professor, Department of Chemistry

Resident advisors invite faculty members to present on an issue or topic of interest. The Roundtables provide an opportunity for the RA to engage and work with the faculty member and the Weatherhead residents to connect with faculty outside of the classroom.

A list of past Roundtables can be found here.

“Navigating Academic Life”

This series of panels and guest speakers, moderated by the faculty member in residence, take up themes introduced in our Wall programs, but with greater sophistication and specificity for these older students.  It includes discussion of opportunities for scholarship/research; study abroad; professional development; and post-graduate opportunities, including nationally competitive scholarships.  Panelists and speakers include more senior students and Deans/Associate Deans at Tulane from various schools to discuss admission and career opportunities for postgraduate study; guests from non-academic programs (Peace Corps, Teach for America, etc.); and possibly guests from graduate programs at other institutions.
